Porcelain Impression 2 – 06.02.12

The idea or thought that the porcelain sculptures can either be textured or refined offer two outcomes to which both can be acceptable. Even though the textured pieces look distinctive, I feel the refined sculptures display harmonious undulating silhouettes, unique and natural.

What are they?

Ans – an abstract impression – a section of sculpture/ form out of context – both sides equally interesting yet in contrast. The negative (the impressed side) hides detail and any narrative. Hidden behind an inconspicuous surface. I love the thought that both sides of the sculpture relay their own image. As if behind lies the hidden gem. Almost skeletal in appearance.
